Business Development Representative

As a Business Development Representative at TJM & Co. Media Boutique, you would be responsible for expanding a company’s client base. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by vetting, contacting, and developing relationships with potential client. This will be accomplished by using prospecting strategies like utilizing market research, developing personalized emails, and building cold call lists congruent with operating on programs such as HubSpot, Asana, and Toggl. Your goal will be to identify, qualify, and move leads through the sales pipeline and nurture qualified leads until they’re ready to make a commitment. Reports to CEO.

 

Critical Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize prospecting strategies to generate new sales opportunities and lead initial outreach
  • Identify the needs and challenges of potential clients  
  • Evaluate the client’s compatibility with the company and suggest appropriate services
  • Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities
  • Proactively see new business opportunities in the market
  • Schedule discovery meetings between clients, account leads, or executives
  • Update CEO with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong business communication and writing skills 
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures as well as experience in public relations and digital marketing 
  • Proficient in creating sales materials, such as decks, one-sheets, etc.
  • Aligned with our core values and understands our mission
  • Proven ability to creatively problem solve with strong analytical skills
  • Resilient self-starter who has the desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • At least one year of professional experience

Public Relations Coordinator

Our PR Coordinator typically has ownership over specific projects where you can flex your organization and time-management muscles, and report back to the team. We are looking for hard workers who have a do-whatever-it-takes attitude to get the job done. The PR Coordinator will be in charge of media list development to arm our team with the best intel possible to successfully secure coverage and conduct industry monitoring to flag any trends, issues and media coverage for clients. Additionally, this role will initiate pitching media outlets & sponsors to secure coverage opportunities and will organize necessary agendas, action items, and reports.

This role is for an internship position – a full-time position may be offered at the end of the internship.

Responsibilities 

  • Tracks and coordinates compilation of client and industry press clippings and client reports

  • Coordinates and executes media mailings

  • Conducts entry-level media relations with guidance, pitching news announcements and conducts follow up via phone and email

  • Conducts research on behalf of clients and the firm,

  • Writes first drafts of press materials and media pitches

  • Supports event logistics and execution, including on-site support for team and client

  • Takes direction well and follows through with a medium level of supervision

  • Meets objectives and deadlines

  • Maintains excellent communication with the team and occasionally with the client

  • Develop stories to pitch to print media and online publications and send after approval

  • Contribute to developing strategies to increase our organic reach

  • Support the development and nurturing of relationships with media

  • Research media, influencer, and co-branded opportunities and outlets

  • Initiate, nurture and reinforce relationships with new and existing clients 

  • Support use of Hubspot CRM tool (training will be provided)

  • Develop and manage both internal and client social media campaigns with guidance and approval

 

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in PR/Communications or related discipline (or in the last year of study)

  • Requires 1-2 years of experience in public relations or a related field

  • Exceptional ability to write enticing & creative copy

  • Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude, relentless attention to detail and effective multitasking

  • Proficient in Google Suite

  • SEO understanding 

  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics

    • Ability to collect information and data from the platform

  • Graphic design skills preferred, but not required – Canva, Adobe Creative Suite

  • Must have an understanding of algorithms and experience with social platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn

You will report to Agency Owner with some supervision by the Executive Assistant.
